WillE's Mage overview: found scrolls build Comprehension, library books unlock research

A 27 October creator video describes two ways Mages advance the new Comprehension skill: reading scrolls that drop while leveling, and handing in a library book to unlock research. Blizzard's 1 October notes separately stop Comprehension scrolls being cast on the move.

WillE's 27 October Mage overview opens its tour of the class with what it calls the biggest Mage addition in Forever: a class-specific skill called Comprehension. According to the video's automatic captions, you learn Comprehend Scroll as early as level 6, untranslated scrolls then start dropping from enemies as you play, and every scroll you read raises the skill. In WillE's telling, it grows on its own while you level.

The second path comes later. The video says your first library book is handed in at Stormwind or Undercity, and that this unlocks research, which produces more scrolls to decipher. Between scrolls found in the world and scrolls you make yourself, WillE expects plenty of variety, and describes rewards ranging from stat boosts and new spells to a scroll that eventually leads to a weapon. We have not tested any of it. The captions don't let us confirm drop rates, research recipes or the exact names of rewards, so treat this as one creator's overview rather than a checklist.

One piece has an official anchor. Blizzard's 1 October beta development notes say every Mage scroll from Comprehension received an additional balance pass and can no longer be cast while moving. That restriction dates from the 1 October beta build, not from this video, and we have not checked how it behaves in the launch client.
