Is Flame Shock stuck at 20 yards for Elemental Shaman? A beta complaint beside Blizzard’s published wording

A 27 October beta retrospective says Elemental Reach no longer extends Flame Shock. Blizzard’s 7 October deep dive said it did, and its 16 October notes don’t mention removing it.

In a long beta retrospective posted on 27 October, a player who counts Elemental Shaman among the specs they know best singles out one range problem. They say the extra Flame Shock range was removed from the Elemental Reach talent, leaving a spell that needs frequent refreshing at 20 yards while their other spells reach 36. In their account, that pulls Elemental Shaman, along with Shadow Priests and Hunters, in close to the boss, crowding the melee and exposing casters to raid mechanics. They ask Blizzard to leave Earth Shock and Frost Shock at 20 yards but let Flame Shock reach 30, or even 36. They raise a similar positioning objection to Totemic Projection's cooldown.

Blizzard's published wording points the other way, at least as of its date. The Mage and Shaman deep dive of 7 October says Elemental Reach now also increases the range of Fire Nova and Lava Burst by up to 6 yards and the range of Flame Shock by up to 15 yards, and warns that abilities and talents may keep changing through the beta. The 16 October development notes change Elemental Reach again, adding a 10/20-second reduction to Totemic Projection's cooldown, but say nothing about removing the Flame Shock bonus.

So this is a discrepancy, not a confirmed nerf. The player is describing their beta experience; the deep dive describes an earlier preview; neither is a launch tooltip. Whether Elemental Reach still extends Flame Shock is the line to read in the client when it is available.
