Out of mana, into melee: one Balance Druid's idea for a riskier Moonkin
A 31 October US forum post asks for costlier, harder-hitting Balance spells and a choice when mana runs out: wade into melee or retreat to recover. Told the gameplay already exists through Omen of Clarity, the author conceded a point about white hits but kept the request.

OgreJr's US forum thread Make Balance druid a hybrid (31 October, 00:52 UTC) describes a Moonkin built around running dry. Spells would cost more and hit harder. Once out of mana, the Druid would choose between running into melee "to box with the enemy" and running away to heal and reset. They want mana from auto attacks to drive this, an idea they say they would retool "to be useful", and they sum up the class as "Jack of all, master of none." Dorishar objected that a hybrid able to help a five-player group would be useless in raids built from specialists, and OgreJr disagreed.
The more revealing exchange came next. Zolmation replied that Balance already has this through Omen of Clarity, which they say procs from spells, and that running into melee to proc it when out of mana is already something players do in PvP. OgreJr first pushed back that Omen works from spellcasts, not white damage, and restated the feel they want: "I want to run in and smack people with my druid caster mace (or polearm)." An edit, timestamped about a minute later, concedes that Omen "works off white hits too, you right", and OgreJr left the original text up anyway. The request now rests on preference rather than premise: whatever Omen does, they want the empty-mana moment to be a melee phase, not more Wrath.
