Show the aura: Paladin players want it under their feet, if it does not bury the screen

A high-scoring Reddit post asked Forever to display Paladin auras under the character. Replies split over clutter and ground damage, offering a brief pulse, a Paladin-only view and separate switches, while others rejected the idea or the reflex to add a toggle.

"For too long (since vanilla) Paladin aura's become hidden after activation," EuBatham wrote on r/wowforever on 30 October. Shamans can show their totems, they pointed out, so why not display the aura under the Paladin's feet? "Make it togglable for all I care, via a spell like Contemplation." Their post had a score of 524 and 127 comments within about 75 minutes.

The most upvoted reply agreed only on one condition. "If it's only visible for the paladin," Worldly-Shop-3850 answered, scoring 293. They've played too many games where "the screen just becomes mindless flashes of rainbow colors". Shadohawkk's objection was more practical: if too many Paladins stood in one place the effect would cover the ground, and you couldn't see ground damage.

So the thread turned into design work. Sanuhan suggested a pulse instead of a constant display, fading in "every like 5-10 seconds" for about a second. MisterWoodhouse proposed two switches, one for seeing your own aura and one for seeing other players', so you could turn on either, both or neither.

Not everyone accepts that a setting settles it. "So tired of every new suggestion people have being 'toggleable'," Mangoes95 wrote. "That's not the answer to everything." Others in the thread simply said no.

These are requests and reactions. Nothing here says Blizzard plans to show auras, or that the pulse or the two switches exist. The disagreement is about who should have to look at a Paladin's aura, and how often.
