Ruins of Lordaeron: helping the Forsaken reclaim their old capital
Forever turns the ruined city above the Undercity into a dungeon for levels 15 to 20, where the Forsaken try to recover their keepsakes amid the Scourge and a rising necromancer. Easy for the Horde, a trek for the Alliance.

Every Forsaken character has walked through the ruins of Lordaeron on the way down to the Undercity. In Forever, the ruined city becomes a dungeon. Blizzard’s dungeon preview of 20 October places Ruins of Lordaeron within the ruined city above the Undercity in Tirisfal Glades, for levels 15 to 20.
Reclaiming a home
The premise is quieter than most dungeon pitches. The Forsaken are working to reclaim the shattered remains of their old capital, where keepsakes and memories still lie among the rubble. The ruins are haunted by the Scourge, and there are reports of a necromancer gathering power. Adventurers are asked to help secure the city and face that threat.
For Forsaken players, that is a rare thing: a story about what the Undead still value from their lives, rather than about what they have lost. The preview names no necromancer and no bosses, so how much of that story the dungeon tells is still to be seen.
Ruins outside, dungeon inside
The open ruins have always been a thoroughfare, the space you cross between Tirisfal and the city below. The new dungeon is an instanced adventure “within the ruined city”, per the preview. It does not say where the entrance is, or how much of the familiar ruins is involved, so do not assume a doorway you already know.
Access runs the other way
Horde players can reach the entrance easily from the Undercity. Alliance groups will need to venture into Horde territory, at levels where Tirisfal is a long way from most Alliance zones.
That makes Ruins of Lordaeron a mirror of Hall of Thanes, the 13 to 18 dungeon beneath Ironforge. Their level ranges overlap, so a mixed-level group of friends on either side has two early options, one at home and one behind enemy lines.
