Dwarf Find Treasure now has a chance at extra chest items

Find Treasure now gives Dwarves a chance to find additional items in most chests: a small exploration bonus, not an income plan. Earth Fury, which briefly replaced Mace Specialization, gave way on 26 October to Artisan’s Precision.

Dwarves have always been able to track treasure. In Forever, they may also find a little more in it once they get there. Blizzard’s 16 October development notes say Find Treasure now also grants a chance to find additional items in most chests.

Blizzard’s final racial pass on 26 October does not mention Find Treasure, so that change stands as last announced.

A chance, not an income

It is a chance, and the notes give no rate. It applies to most chests, not all, and the notes do not say which are excluded. And it says nothing about what the additional items are.

So it is a small exploration bonus, not an income plan. A Dwarf who opens chests while questing will sometimes get extra. Nothing in the notes supports farming chests for profit with it.

The other Dwarf change, and its reversal

The 16 October build replaced Mace Specialization with Earth Fury, which granted 2% increased critical damage and healing. That swap did not last.

On 26 October Blizzard removed Earth Fury and added Artisan’s Precision, which increases hit chance with spells and attacks by 1%. The Dwarf entry does not bring Mace Specialization back, and Blizzard says weapon specialization racials are staying out so that future loot is not judged by required weapon types.

So mace users still lose a weapon-specific racial. In place of Earth Fury’s bigger crits, every Dwarf gets a small hit bonus that covers both attacks and spells.
