Shared quest drops for groups? What the developers said on the 22 October podcast
Asked to make quest drops available to everyone in a group, the reply pointed to round-robin work already done and left future tuning open, without promising shared loot.

Near the end of Episode 5 of the official WoW: Forever Podcast, published on 22 October, the developers on the episode were handed a closing request: let quest drops be available to everyone in a group, so players can be social and group up. It was put as a wish for the future, not a description of how quest loot works now.
The reply, as the episode's automatic captions record it, did not rule the idea out and made two separate points. First, the team had already done some work to help round-robin those drops, and players shouldn't simply assume that grouping will be dramatically slower; the reply said it works fairly well. Second, that didn't mean things could never be tuned a bit more in the future. That is as far as it went: no commitment to shared quest drops for every group member, no schedule, and no figures for drop rates or group speed.
We have not tested grouped questing in a launch client, and the captions don't establish which developer gave the answer, so we paraphrase rather than quote it. For friends planning to quest together, the takeaway is modest but real: some distribution work is described as already done, and anything more is a possibility, not a plan.
