Engineering’s Reagent Bot: a reagent counter at the campfire

The Reagent Bot, available at Engineering 20, lets players at a camp buy reagents. What Blizzard’s guide promises roadside crafters, and what it does not mention, from stock to repairs.

Most camp features hand out a buff. Engineering’s hands out a shop. Blizzard’s camping guide of 21 October lists the Reagent Bot at Engineering skill 20: it summons a bot from which you and others nearby can purchase reagents.

What that promises

It promises a reagent vendor at a campsite, open to nearby players as well as the engineer. That is useful in places where the nearest town is a long walk away, and it fits the guide’s picture of camps as places to stop, prepare and meet people.

It does not promise much else. The guide does not list what the bot sells, what it charges or how long it stays. It does not mention repairs, mail or selling items. Expect a reagent counter, and check its stock in the launch client before you rely on it to replace a town visit.

One wording detail is worth noticing. Most camp features in the table benefit “you and others sitting nearby”. The Reagent Bot’s entry says only “you and others nearby”. Whether that means you can shop without sitting down is not something the guide spells out.

More workspaces later

The guide adds that other professions unlock conveniences such as Alchemy Laboratories and Tanning Racks. It gives no skill levels or details for them, so treat them as named, not described.

The usual camp rules

Every camp feature needs a campfire nearby, and all of them share one placement cooldown: an hour at baseline, less for a character with the Legacy perk Field Guide. A Reagent Bot uses that cooldown like any other feature, which is worth settling before a group decides who places what; our camp capacity explainer covers that.

If you have taken the Reagent Economy Legacy perk, your own class abilities no longer need purchasable reagents. For those reagents, the bot is then more useful to your companions than to you.
