Four seconds left to forfeit: the duel-area warning in a 17 October Forever beta tournament duel
NohitJerome’s own stream of his duel with Realsavix shows the duel-area forfeit warning counting down, then the chat reporting that he had fled. A later chat notice said ambiguous flee situations would be judged at the organizers’ discretion.

On 17 October, NohitJerome and Savix were both streaming The Forever Open, a level-30 duel tournament played on the Forever beta. Their two recordings show the same duel from opposite sides, and NohitJerome’s shows how it ended on his side: a countdown near the top of the screen, then a line in the chat.
The setup
About two hours and eight minutes into NohitJerome’s stream, he is getting ready for a match. Roughly a minute later, the chat shows a duel request, the duel flag is up and his opponent, Realsavix, is standing opposite. The fight starts a few seconds after that. Savix’s own stream shows the same exchange from the other side, with Nohitjerome as his target.
Nine, seven, four, one
Later in the fight, a warning near the top of NohitJerome’s screen is counting down. In the stills we checked, it reads 9 seconds, then 7, and then, about two hours and 12 minutes in: “Exiting duel area, you will forfeit in 4 Seconds.” About three seconds later, it reads 1 second. A few seconds after that, the chat reports that Nohitjerome has fled from the duel, and Realsavix’s name turns green, as a friendly player’s would.
That is what the game displayed. These moments do not show why he moved out of the area or whether he noticed the warning, and we draw no conclusion about either.
The game’s message is not a ruling
About a minute and a half later, a message in the same stream’s chat tells competitors to be mindful that ambiguous flee situations may arise, and that those will be reviewed and judged at the discretion of the TFO organizers. The notice is worded generally, names no duel and states no ruling, and we have not seen the organizers’ decision on this match. The flee line in the chat is what the game reported. It is not the tournament’s verdict.
How it came back around
Xaryu replays the moment in a reaction video about parts of the tournament he had missed. The video was published on 22 October and opens by giving the date as 21 October. Earlier in it, he describes the spectator view used for the broadcast as not as good as the one they normally have, with no buff information on the first day, something he says was sorted out by the second. That is his account of the broadcast tools. It does not explain what happened in this duel.
The practical point
It is a small one, and it comes from one beta recording. In this duel, the forfeit warning counted down to 1 second before the chat reported the flee. If you duel in an organized event, it is worth knowing where the edge of the area is before the fight starts, and keeping half an eye on that part of the screen.
This piece describes what is visible in NohitJerome’s and Savix’s 17 October streams. It is not a full review of either stream, of the match or of the tournament.
