Eastern Plaguelands towers and the Silithus contest were not in Forever’s launch plan on 15 October

Two familiar Classic world PvP objectives were not part of Forever’s launch plan as it was described on Blizzard’s official PvP episode of The WoW: Forever Podcast, published on 15 October. The answer named the capture towers in Eastern Plaguelands and the back-and-forth contest in Silithus as things not enabled in Forever from launch.

If you keep a checklist of Classic world PvP, those are two entries the 15 October plan did not include for day one.

Why they were left out

The reason given was that those objectives did not really land in terms of what they were meant to do for PvP. That is the panel’s own assessment of the originals, not a measured history of how they played.

Season of Discovery events

In the same answer, Season of Discovery’s outdoor events, such as Battle for Ashenvale and the Blood Moon in Stranglethorn, were described as still on the board, and the panel said it would love to work out how to bring them in. That is a wish, not an announcement. The answer did not present those events as replacements for the towers or the Silithus contest.

The stated direction is broader: to create objectives that give players the tools for organic PvP.

What it left open

The answer described no redesigned tower or Silithus objective, and it gave no date for either to return.

This account paraphrases the 15 October recording. It is not a transcript, and it does not describe the live game.
