At a glance

Hyjal Summit is a new maximum-level, 20-player raid in WoW: Forever's Mount Hyjal zone. It follows the aftermath of Archimonde's defeat and the damaged World Tree Nordrassil. It is not The Burning Crusade's Caverns of Time Battle for Mount Hyjal raid: do not follow that raid's wave sequence or Vials of Eternity attunement here.

Blizzard's roadmap announces new raids for 9 December 2026, after Forever's 4 November launch. Its Legacy System article explicitly confirms 13 Hyjal Summit bosses. The official 8 October Forever Podcast confirms no attunement blocks entry to the new raids, while hinting at unrevealed steps for the full experience. No specific key, reputation gate or material bill is established. Entrance coordinates and raid-save behavior still need verification.

Use this as an announcement and preparation guide checked on 17 October 2026. A complete, verified boss walkthrough is not yet supported by the public sources checked.

Before you go

Build a level 60 roster of twenty with tank and backup coverage, several healers, both ranged and melee damage, and access to the dispels and interrupts your classes can supply. Keep the exact roster adjustable. There is no verified encounter requirement here for a particular tank count, healer count, class stack or resistance set.

Upgrade weak slots through available endgame dungeons, complete ordinary enchants and bring consumables for your role, food, water and repairs. Do not buy a raid-wide nature or fire resistance set just because the setting contains forests or demons. Damage schools and resistance targets require actual encounter evidence.

Agree the travel meeting point, loot rules and progression session length. Confirm the usable entrance before telling the group to meet at a coordinate from another version of Mount Hyjal. The developer interview describes a fixed raid size with no current flex-size plan.

Coordinate camp objects with the group before travelling. Their stat benefits share categories with class buffs, so use them to fill missing coverage rather than count duplicate bonuses. Hunter pets scale from the owner's gear and do not accept player stat buffs; check the Hunter guide before spending buff resources on a pet.

Forever preparation: The developers confirm continued access to Classic consumables. Check current item tooltips and stacking rules when preparing them. Traditional world-buff use inside raids still needs policy confirmation; do not require a collection circuit or count those effects in your guaranteed raid budget.

The thirteen named encounters

The count is confirmed by Blizzard. Names below match the public Forever completion-achievement record checked on 17 October 2026. A database criteria list is not a verified route or kill order.

  • Bandalar
  • Time-Lost Battalion
  • Old Gloomlurker
  • Kathris the Haunted
  • Elder Minderel
  • Council of Thorns
  • The Wild King
  • Ancient of Decay
  • Sylvestris Dusksong
  • Gharalis the Abyssal
  • Anara Chillwind
  • Tracker Stillwind
  • Nythus the Dreambound

Encounter tactics, phase triggers and loot are not yet established by the public evidence checked. Treat these as provisional names for planning attendance, not as a kill order or a basis for resistance purchases.

A useful first-visit plan

  1. Confirm access and the save. Read any lockout warning and verify which players can join that instance. The raid's reset duration, wing rules and interaction with other raid saves have not been established here.
  2. Map the available route. Record real branches, encounter barriers and patrol paths. Do not assume all thirteen fights are linear or all must be cleared in one session.
  3. Assign the first pull. Name boss and add tanks, tank and raid healers, an interrupt caller and a retreat direction. Keep room to change those assignments when the encounter demonstrates its actual needs.
  4. Review observed failures. Record the first death, ability name, target, school and whether an interrupt, dispel, movement or tank swap was actually available. Distinguish an observed mechanic from a name-based guess.
  5. Recover deliberately. Wait for enemies to reset, restore resources and correct the failed role assignment before repeating. Do not drag a partial group through uncleared trash to save a few seconds.

Use this learning plan until confirmed encounter instructions are available.

Loot and progression

Blizzard announces new tier sets with Hyjal Summit and Barrow Deeps. Its roadmap places a new legendary questline in Spring 2027, without establishing its raid, class eligibility, boss source or material chain. Choose item priorities after actual boss tables and set-token rules are published; keep expensive legendary-material purchases open until those requirements are known.

Defeating all thirteen bosses completes a raid Legacy Challenge for a Legacy Point in Blizzard's published system. That reward is separate from gear allocation. The completion achievement confirms the boss count but does not establish encounter order or difficulty.

What still needs verification

Before scheduling progression, recheck the usable entrance, final access rules, reset and save warnings, encounter route and released loot tables. Boss abilities, phases, role assignments and safe recovery routes still need public raid-testing or live evidence. Until then, allow time for learning and keep expensive gear purchases flexible.
