The Auction House now shows equip level and suffix stats

Two 16 October Auction House changes: a column for the level needed to equip an item, and proper stat display for suffix items such as “of the Monkey”. Why equip level is not item level.

Two small Auction House changes in Blizzard’s 16 October development notes make buying gear less of a guessing game.

A column for equippable level

The Auction House now displays a column for equippable level: the level a character needs to wear the item. When you are shopping for a character, you can see which listings it can actually use.

That is not the same as item level. Item level measures how powerful an item is. Equippable level is the requirement to wear it. Two items with the same requirement can differ in power, so use the column to filter what you can wear, and the item itself to judge what is worth buying.

Stats for suffix items

The Auction House now properly displays equipment stats for items with suffixes, such as “of the Monkey”. Those items share a base name but differ in their stats, so seeing the stats in the listing is what lets you tell them apart. The notes do not list what any suffix grants in Forever, which is exactly why the listing matters: read the stats there rather than relying on what a suffix meant in another version of the game.

This builds on a 1 October fix that made the Auction House display item suffixes correctly. The suffix names came first; the stats followed.
