Forever planning status: Use this guide to plan Brood of Nozdormu progression in WoW: Forever. The rates, caps, quest steps and reward gates below are inherited Classic reference; their Forever tuning and availability remain unconfirmed. Confirm the available kill sources and turn-in gates before deciding which raid items to save. Forever's Legacy Diplomat perk and racial bonuses can change gains; use your actual displayed reputation per turn-in when converting the base figures below into a shopping list.

Inherited Classic baseline:

Brood of Nozdormu reputation unlocks the Bronze Dragonflight ring paths and Temple of Ahn'Qiraj Tier 2.5 armor quests. Both factions start at 0/36,000 Hated. Anachronos is outside the Caverns of Time in Tanaris; the armor, Insignia and Artifact turn-ins are with the friendly dragons inside AQ40 after The Prophet Skeram. The separate weapon and Eye quest NPCs are deeper, in the final dragon chamber adjacent to C'Thun.

You do not need to finish the Scepter of the Shifting Sands chain to enter an already-open Ahn'Qiraj or earn its kill reputation. The server's gates must be open. The Scepter is an optional and demanding alternate project, not every raider's attunement.

How to gain it at each standing

Hated through Neutral: use AQ40 kills first

The opening climb is unusually long: 36,000 to leave Hated, then 3,000 through Hostile and 3,000 through Unfriendly. Reaching Neutral from the starting value takes 42,000 base reputation. Most AQ40 trash gives 100 per kill and stops at 2,999/3,000 Neutral, one point before Friendly.

Raid AQ40 normally and save Qiraji Lord's Insignias and Ancient Qiraji Artifacts while trash still pays. Those items work beyond the trash cap and are more useful later. The saved-item strategy costs bag space but reduces the number of future lockouts needed. Insignias and Artifacts bind on pickup, so the recipient must earn and save their own raid drops; they cannot be bought or moved from another character.

The Scepter route begins with Baristolth of the Shifting Sands at Cenarion Hold: What Tomorrow Brings, Only One May Rise, The Path of the Righteous and the repeatable The Hand of the Righteous. It requires raid progress and large numbers of Silithid Carapace Fragments. Use it if you are actually pursuing that chain before the gates open. Do not abandon an ordinary AQ raid plan to farm this chain solely to make the faction appear in the reputation panel.

At 2,999 Neutral and above: use turn-ins and remaining boss sources

SourceBase Brood reputationLimitation
Qiraji Lord's Insignia: Mortal Champions with Kandrostrasz in AQ40500, plus 100 Cenarion CircleInsignias come from AQ40 bosses, not AQ20 bosses
Ancient Qiraji Artifact: Secrets of the Qiraji with Andorgos in AQ401,000Rare raid drop; do not budget one per clear
Twin Emperors200 for the pairRaid lockout limits repeat kills
C'Thun2,500Requires completing the raid's final encounter
AQ20 bosses50 each, with 100 from Ossirian: 350 per full clearContinues through Exalted, but supplies no AQ40 insignias

Use a saved item to cross the final point into Friendly, then continue with these sources to Exalted. From 0/6,000 Friendly, the remaining bars total 39,000 reputation: 6,000 to Honored, 12,000 to Revered and 21,000 to Exalted. Boss kills, ring quests and other completed quests lower the number of items needed. For example, 39,000 divided by 500 is 78 insignias if no other reputation is earned.

Rewards by standing

Bronze Dragonflight rings

At Neutral, choose one path with Anachronos: Protector for tanking, Conqueror for physical damage, or Invoker for casting. Turn in each ring when you reach Friendly, Honored, Revered and Exalted to upgrade the same path. Keep the current ring; the next quest consumes it. Check the actual stats against your spec rather than choosing from the path's name alone.

Choose your main role before the first hand-in. At Exalted, The Changing of Paths lets you surrender the completed ring for one of the other two paths. Each change also consumes the following scarabs, according to the path you leave:

Path you leaveScarab bill, plus your current Exalted ring
Protector15 Stone, 15 Gold and 15 Silver Scarabs
Invoker15 Bronze, 15 Crystal and 15 Clay Scarabs
Conqueror15 Bone, 15 Ivory and 15 Stone Scarabs

This exchanges the ring rather than letting you keep several paths at once. Budget another scarab batch if you later change back.

The Eye of C'Thun reward's final The Savior of Kalimdor delivery also needs at least Neutral so Anachronos will speak; owning the Eye after a first clear does not guarantee that access. Atiesh recipients likewise need at least Neutral to speak with Anachronos for their legendary chain. This is a separate use of the standing, beyond buying a ring; see Naxxramas for the ordered staff steps.

Tier 2.5 armor

Minimum standingArmor slotsRequired boss-token family
NeutralShoulders and bootsQiraji Bindings of Command or Dominance
FriendlyHelm and legsClass-specific head or leg token from the Twin Emperors or Ouro
HonoredChestCarapace or Husk of the Old God from C'Thun

Each armor quest also needs the class's specified scarabs and idols. Every piece consumes its own boss token, so shoulders plus boots take two Bindings tokens; use the AQ40 loot tables for exact token/class families, turn-in NPCs and the complete five-piece scarab/idol budget. Inspect the quest before allocating a token. A token with the right-looking name may belong to another set of classes, and having the reputation alone does not provide any armor. Neutral is enough for the first two slots, so there is no need to wait for Exalted to start turning in armor.

The Scarab Lord gate event is a separate time-limited server project. It is not an automatic Exalted reputation reward and the ring grind does not grant its mount or title.

Tips

  • Save uncapped items until the 2,999 Neutral trash limit if speed to Exalted matters more than immediate ring access.
  • Bring the insignias and armor materials into the raid. The relevant dragons are inside AQ40, not at Cenarion Hold.
  • Keep Brood and Cenarion Circle rewards separate. AQ40 Tier 2.5 and Bronze rings use Brood; AQ20's three-piece class sets use Cenarion Circle.
  • Recheck a source when reputation stops. Continuing to farm capped trash cannot finish Friendly.
