At a glance

First Aid is secondary and can be learned with two primary professions, Cooking and Fishing. Bandages give every class a way to recover without a healer. Forever puts the standard healing-potion line in First Aid, but the safe route below does not depend on locating an unconfirmed high-level potion manual.

The bandage costs and learning skills below match current Forever recipe data. Higher training and Artisan quest access remain conditional while the beta is capped at level 30. This is online research, not our own game test.

Capital trainers include Shaina Fuller in Stormwind, Nissa Firestone in Ironforge and Dannelor in Darnassus; Horde uses Arnok in Orgrimmar, Mary Edras in Undercity and Pand Stonebinder in Thunder Bluff. Starting-zone trainers can also teach the early recipes.

RankUnlock
Apprentice, cap 75The current Forever source reports no Apprentice level gate
Journeyman, cap 150Skill 50 from an early trainer; learn it before crossing 75
Expert, cap 225Use Expert First Aid, Under Wraps at skill 125, sold by Deneb Walker at Stromgarde Keep, Arathi Highlands, for Alliance or Balai Lok'Wein at Brackenwall Village, Dustwallow Marsh, for Horde
Artisan, cap 300Complete Triage at skill 225 and character level 35

The Expert book has no added character-level requirement in the current source. Buy the Heavy Silk Bandage and Mageweave Bandage manuals from that same vendor during the trip. Learn Silk Bandage from the ordinary trainer before leaving town.

The bandage route by skill range

Counts are approximate crafts with a working allowance for yellow or green recipes. If you arrive at the next bracket early, stop and learn the next recipe rather than consuming the entire batch without benefit.

290-300About 15 Heavy Runecloth Bandage30 RuneclothTriage doctor at skill 290

The displayed bandage budget totals 170 Linen, 180 Wool, 150 Silk, 120 Mageweave and 80 Runecloth. Random skill-ups can require more or less. Forever's public source suggests lower average cloth use in early brackets, but keeping a small reserve avoids an unnecessary auction-house trip. The upper bandage recipes appear in current Forever data; obtain Artisan access before using them beyond the 225 rank cap.

Triage in order

Alliance goes to Doctor Gustaf VanHowzen in Theramore's keep, Dustwallow Marsh. Horde goes to Doctor Gregory Victor in Hammerfall, Arathi Highlands. The optional Trauma breadcrumb sends you there; the actual Artisan gate is the doctor's Triage quest.

  1. Bring the cloth for later bandages, reach skill 225 and level 35, and accept Triage from your faction doctor.
  2. Put the quest's Triage Bandages on a convenient key. Your ordinary bandages do not complete the patient objective.
  3. Stand where you can see the room, show friendly nameplates or health bars and select patients by their injury label. Critically Injured patients are the most urgent, then Badly Injured, then Injured. Patient races differ between faction rooms, so do not use one faction's race list as a universal priority.
  4. Complete 15 rescues before six patients die. Avoid unnecessary movement during the short treatment and select the next patient promptly.
  5. Turn the quest in immediately after success. The ongoing room event can otherwise turn a delayed completion into failure.
  6. Stay nearby while gaining skill so you can return to learn Heavy Mageweave at 240, Runecloth at 260 and Heavy Runecloth at 290.

If you fail, restart the quest rather than trying to repair the failed patient count with your own supplies. The quest bandages and your later leveling cloth are separate resources.

Forever healing potions and curatives

The standard healing-potion recipes now belong to First Aid. Their current reagent bills differ from an original Alchemy shopping list; choose this supply plan separately from the bandage route rather than buying both full budgets. Learning skill and the drinker's required level are different gates.

First Aid learning skillPotion and use-level requirementInputs per crafting actionCurrent learning record
1Minor Healing Potion; no added use-level gate listed1 Peacebloom, 1 Mild Spices, 1 Empty VialTrainer
55Lesser Healing Potion; level 31 Briarthorn, 2 Mild Spices, 1 Empty VialTrainer
110Healing Potion; level 121 Bruiseweed, 1 Hot Spices, 1 Leaded VialTrainer
155Greater Healing Potion; level 211 Liferoot, 3 Hot Spices, 1 Leaded VialManual: Greater Healing Potion
215Superior Healing Potion; level 351 Sungrass, 1 Soothing Spices, 1 Crystal VialManual: Superior Healing Potion
275Major Healing Potion; level 451 Golden Sansam, 3 Soothing Spices, 1 Crystal VialManual: Major Healing Potion

The current Greater manual tooltip names Syndicate Mercenary as a drop source; that is a farming lead, not guaranteed loot or proof of current beta access. Actual sources for the Superior and Major manuals remain unestablished here. Obtain the relevant manual before buying its full herb batch, and use the available bandage recipe when potion access blocks progress.

The finished potions' current tooltips list a two-minute cooldown and no First Aid use requirement. A character can buy a usable potion without learning its crafting profession. Healing is a range: Minor restores 70-90 health, while Major restores 1,050-1,750. Budget survival against the lower end rather than treating a catalog's average as a guaranteed heal. These are standard potions; Alchemy's Discolored variants have a separate damaging aftereffect.

Current Forever poison treatments form a separate ladder. Their one-minute item cooldown and effect-level limits matter; a stronger poison needs the appropriate treatment.

Poison treatmentLearning gate and accessEffect-level limitReagent per craft
Anti-VenomFirst Aid 80; current catalog lists trainer access251 Small Venom Sac
Strong Anti-VenomFirst Aid 130; obtain Manual: Strong Anti-Venom351 Large Venom Sac
Potent Anti-VenomFirst Aid 215; obtain Manual: Potent Anti-Venom451 Swollen Venom Sac
Powerful Anti-VenomFirst Aid 300; bind-on-pickup formula requires Argent Dawn Honored651 Huge Venom Sac

The current Potent manual tooltip lists Lost One Muckdweller as a drop source. That is a farming lead, not a guaranteed drop or confirmation of current beta access. Obtain a manual before buying its full reagent batch. Use the Argent Dawn guide for the later reputation requirement; Powerful Anti-Venom itself also requires First Aid 300 to use.

Disease and bleed treatments have additional combat restrictions:

CurativeCurrent effect and use restrictionReagents per craft
Simple PoulticeRemoves diseases up to effect level 25; out of combat only; one-minute cooldown1 Spider Ichor, 1 Mild Spices, 1 Bottle of Dalaran Noir
Woolen TourniquetRemoves bleeds up to effect level 30; out of combat only; one-minute cooldown2 Wool Cloth, 2 Fine Thread

The current catalog lists Simple Poultice at First Aid 90 and Woolen Tourniquet at 120. Confirm the trainer's current availability before collecting their inputs. Their effect-level limits do not mean a universal cure for every debuff on a level-25 or level-30 player. Since both require leaving combat, keep the group's combat cleanses and healing plan; these are recovery tools after the danger ends. Quantities are per crafting action, without assuming bonus output.

Using First Aid well

Bandages are channeled healing. Taking damage can interrupt the channel, including periodic damage, so find a safe window: crowd control, line of sight or a break between pulls. The Recently Bandaged restriction prevents immediate repeated treatment on the same target; a second player cannot bypass it simply by applying another bandage.

Bandage use skill can be lower than crafting skill. The current Heavy Runecloth Bandage item requires First Aid 225 to use, while learning its recipe requires 290. If another crafter can supply it, you do not need to learn that recipe yourself; this does not establish that Runecloth or a high-skill supplier is available in the current capped beta.

Healing potions, bandages and curatives solve different problems and can have separate restrictions. Keep the usable rank on your action bar and the actual item in your bags. Training a recipe does not create a stack of bandages.

Carry only the useful stock for the next run and keep enough cloth for skill-ups. Tailoring and First Aid compete for cloth, so decide which immediate unlock matters before spending all your Silk or Runecloth. Use the camping guide for First Aid camp objects and verify their exact buff and blueprint access in the current client.

In Forever, the October 16 public data lists Working Overtime as an increase to tradeskill skill-up chance. That can change expected material use on yellow or green recipes; it does not mean an exact 20% reduction in every shopping list. The route budgets do not assume that perk. Bartering discounts vendor items under its current rules, not training or repairs, so do not subtract it from every profession expense.
