Blizzard planned a send-off for the World of Warcraft: Forever beta. On 22 October at 17:00 UTC, it announced on its forums that the beta celebration was underway, promising 24 hours of what it called shenanigans and upheaval before the beta’s scheduled end. The same announcement appeared on the European forums.

The schedule

Blizzard scheduled the beta to end at 10:00 a.m. PDT on Friday, 23 October: 17:00 UTC, or 19:00 CEST. This account rests on that announcement; we did not observe the servers closing.

Seven zones

The announcement named seven zones: Zephras Isle, Dun Morogh, Elwynn Forest, Teldrassil, Durotar, Tirisfal Glades and Mulgore. Players were invited to log in one last time, head to one of them and say goodbye to the beta.

A warning about the event

The announcement came with a warning. The one-time celebration would almost certainly include items and experiences that will not be part of Forever after it launches on November 4.
