At a glance
WoW: Forever, five players per wing. Location: northeastern Tirisfal Glades. The inherited entrance hall has four separate instances, left to right: Graveyard, Cathedral, Armory, Library. Horde approaches from Undercity; Alliance travels through Hillsbrad and Silverpine, avoiding Horde guards.
Choose the wing before forming the party. Provisional first-clear ranges from inherited encounter levels are roughly Graveyard 28-33, Library 32-36, Armory 35-39, Cathedral 38-42. Check Forever's current listings and your group's gear; these are planning recommendations, not entry requirements. A Graveyard party should prepare separately for Cathedral.
The inherited access plan is Library first for the Scarlet Key from Doan's Strongbox, then the locked Armory and Cathedral doors. Graveyard and Library need no key in that baseline, and one holder can open the other doors for the party. Check the current Forever doors before relying on a lockpicking alternative.
Current Forever references retain the four wings and their multi-wing quest chains. Tactics below use Classic evidence where Forever changes are unconfirmed. This guide is public-source research, not an in-game test.
Quests to pick up first
Quests spanning several wings
- Into the Scarlet Monastery, Horde: Varimathras in Undercity wants Houndmaster Loksey in Library, Herod in Armory, and Mograine plus Whitemane in Cathedral. The Classic quest begins at level 33. Graveyard does not provide any of its four required kills.
- In the Name of the Light, Alliance: complete Brother Anton's Down the Scarlet Path chain in Desolace, then visit Raleigh the Devout in Southshore for the dungeon stage. Brother Crowley in Stormwind provides a breadcrumb to Anton; he does not directly hand you the final kill quest. The Classic dungeon stage requires level 34 and the same four kills as the Horde version.
Graveyard
- Vorrel's Revenge, Horde: speak to Vorrel Sengutz inside after Interrogator Vishas. Outside the dungeon, loot his ring from Nancy Vishas at the lakeside house around 32, 32 on the Alterac Mountains map, then return it to Monika Sengutz in Tarren Mill. Nancy is a level-33 elite and shares the house with Grandpa Vishas; arrange help for that separate fight rather than returning to another Graveyard boss.
- Hearts of Zeal, Horde: Master Apothecary Faranell in Undercity offers it after Going, Going, Guano! from Razorfen Kraul. Collect 20 Hearts of Zeal from eligible Scarlet enemies. Check your own counter rather than assuming one short wing will supply all 20.
Library
- Compendium of the Fallen, Horde: Sage Truthseeker on Thunder Bluff's Elder Rise wants a book from the Library. Undead characters cannot accept this Classic quest; sharing it does not bypass that restriction.
- Test of Lore, Horde: follow Dorn Plainstalker's Thousand Needles test chain until Parqual Fintallas in Undercity asks for the Beginnings of the Undead Threat book. The earlier similarly named steps are not the Library objective.
- Mythology of the Titans, Alliance: Librarian Mae Paledust in Ironforge's Hall of Explorers wants the book from a Library side room. It is a ground object, not Doan's loot.
- Rituals of Power, Mage: complete the class-chain steps leading to Tabetha in Dustwallow Marsh and accept her book objective before entering. The book is in the Library's final book-lined section. Confirm whether the Classic chain is available to your Forever Mage before making a special trip.
For an ordinary leveling trip, Armory and Cathedral contribute the multi-wing boss objectives.
The run
Graveyard
- Interrogator Vishas: clear his accompanying enemies and interrupt or dispel damaging magic where available. Horde players speak to Vorrel after the kill.
- Courtyard and crypt: pull small groups instead of collecting the whole graveyard. Clear space around any rare before engaging it.
- Bloodmage Thalnos: interrupt his damaging casts, keep ranged back from Fire Nova and move out of targeted fire. Start with healer mana for the full fight.
Optional rares are Azshir the Sleepless, Fallen Champion and Ironspine. None is guaranteed, and none is a requirement for Cathedral or the key. Keep feared players away from uncleared graves and move out of Ironspine's poison.
Library
- Houndmaster Loksey: clear the courtyard patrol before pulling his three hounds. Control a hound if possible and kill the others while the tank holds Loksey. Do not leave all three attacking the healer while focusing the boss.
- Book rooms: check each quest holder's book before leaving the shelves. Scarlet healers deserve early interrupts; let the tank bring casters back around a corner rather than fighting several rooms at once.
- Arcanist Doan: keep ranged and the healer clear of nearby Arcane Explosion and Silence. Polymorph can disable the healer, so arrange an available magic dispel or backup healing. Around half health he uses Arcane Bubble and prepares Detonation. Stop wasting damage into the shield and move away or break line of sight around the room's doorway before the explosion. Return once it resolves and finish him.
- Doan's Strongbox: loot the Scarlet Key before leaving. Boss loot alone does not put it in your keyring.
Armory
- Clear the training halls a pack at a time, stopping runners before they reach another group. Keep the healer away from close-range silences.
- Herod: face him away from the party. When he begins Whirlwind, everyone in melee, including the tank, moves out and waits for it to finish. Spell immunity during the spin wastes damage cooldowns. The tank re-establishes control before melee returns.
- Scarlet Trainees: Herod's death is not the end of combat. Gather the incoming trainees and kill them with controlled area damage, keeping them off the healer. Loot only after the wave is safe.
Cathedral
- Clear the courtyard and pull the chapel in manageable sections. Clear all remaining chapel enemies before engaging Mograine; the boss pull can bring them into the fight.
- High Inquisitor Fairbanks, optional: use the torch switch at the rear side chamber to reveal his hidden room. Interrupt heals and remove Curse of Blood if available. This detour is not required for the multi-wing quests.
- Scarlet Commander Mograine: tank him away from the party and avoid committing all cooldowns to the opening phase. His first defeat brings out Whitemane.
- High Inquisitor Whitemane: damage her until the scripted group sleep and resurrection. When Mograine returns, the tank gathers him while damage dealers kill Whitemane first, interrupting heals, then finish Mograine. Both need to die for the encounter and the two quest kills.
Loot worth staying for
Inherited targets to compare with Forever's current stats and drop tables:
- Graveyard bosses: Torturing Poker and Bloody Brass Knuckles from Vishas; current Forever tables add Painwalker Buckler, a shield with a mana-recovery proc. Thalnos drops Orb of the Forgotten Seer and Bloodmage Mantle.
- Graveyard rares: Ironspine's Ribcage and Ironspine's Fist, Embalmed Shroud from Fallen Champion, and Ghostshard Talisman from Azshir.
- Library: Hypnotic Blade, Illusionary Rod and Robe of Doan from Doan.
- Armory: Ravager, Raging Berserker's Helm, Herod's Shoulder and Scarlet Leggings from Herod.
- Cathedral: Aegis of the Scarlet Commander and Mograine's Might from Mograine; Whitemane's Chapeau, Hand of Righteousness and Triune Amulet from Whitemane; Inquisitor's Shawl from optional Fairbanks.
Tips
- A key run is Library, not Armory. Plan Library first when nobody can open the two locked doors.
- Treat the wings as separate instances with separate resets. Check everyone is outside before resetting, and do not reset a wing containing an unfinished quest item or corpse.
- Check all four kill objectives before turning in Into the Scarlet Monastery or In the Name of the Light. A Cathedral-only group cannot finish either from scratch.
- Stop runners and protect healer mana between chapel pulls. Most avoidable deaths come from overlapping packs rather than the named bosses alone.
