Preparation

At a glance

WoW: Forever, five players. Location: the thorn-covered entrance west of the Great Lift at the southern end of the Barrens. Razorfen Downs is a different dungeon on the other side of this area. Horde can travel south from Camp Taurajo; Alliance can approach through the Barrens from Ratchet or from the south, avoiding the Great Lift's Horde guards.

The listed 29-38 band is a broad planning range. Plan a first party around 30-33, with the tank ready for level 33 Charlga. Allow around an hour, longer if the group needs Blueleaf Tubers and the Willix escort.

This Forever guide uses the inherited quest chains and mechanics as its planning baseline. Current Forever references are checked where available, but class balance, event behaviour and rewards may differ from Classic. Verification is from public sources, not an in-game clear.

Quests to pick up first

  • Blueleaf Tubers, both factions: Mebok Mizzyrix in Ratchet wants 6 tubers. Collect the Crate With Holes, Snufflenose Command Stick and Snufflenose Owner's Manual from beside him before travelling. Use the crate in the cleared lower trench near Willix to summon the Snufflenose Gopher, then use the command stick once to begin a search. Wait for it to dig and loot the exposed tuber; using the stick again during a search recalls it. Repeat for six and keep all three tools for the turn-in.
  • Willix the Importer, both factions: accept the escort from Willix inside the Kraul. Clear the route first and have every eligible player accept before someone starts him moving. It sends the group back toward the entrance, so leave it until the group is ready to retrace the cleared route.
  • Mortality Wanes, Alliance, from level 25: Heralath Fallowbrook lies beside Willix in the trench below Charlga's area. Accept before beginning the return escort, collect Treshala's Pendant from eligible enemies, then deliver it to Treshala Fallowbrook on Darnassus's Tradesmen's Terrace. A first visit may need extra return-route kills for the pendant; it is not automatically awarded after Charlga.
  • The Crone of the Kraul, Alliance: loot Henrig Lonebrow's Journal by the dwarf's corpse at the bottom of the Great Lift in Thousand Needles. Take the journal to Falfindel Waywarder in eastern Feralas, then accept his Charlga quest. You need Razorflank's Medallion from the final boss; the journal itself is not the dungeon stage.
  • A Vengeful Fate, Horde: Auld Stonespire in Thunder Bluff wants Razorflank's Heart from Charlga. Accept before leaving the capital.
  • Going, Going, Guano!, Horde: Master Apothecary Faranell in Undercity wants Kraul Guano from Kraul Bats and Greater Kraul Bats. In Classic this starts at level 30, later than several other RFK quests.
  • An Unholy Alliance, Horde: inspect Charlga's Small Scroll to start the item quest, then visit Varimathras in Undercity. Its follow-up sends you after Ambassador Malcin outside Razorfen Downs, not back to Charlga.
  • Warrior armor chains: Alliance's Fire Hardened Mail and Horde's Brutal Armor require a Vial of Phlogiston from Roogug. Finish the earlier class-chain steps and accept the collection objective before entering. The other materials come from different zones.
  • Elemental Aid, Dwarf Shaman, current Forever: have the stage that explicitly names Charlga Razorflank accepted, then defeat her and collect the Tattered Note. Check that item before leaving her hut. This is a separate objective from the level-30 Call of Air unlock.

The run

Stay on the upper route through Charlga, with the early Roogug detour if needed. Razorfen Dustweavers' Enveloping Winds can disable the healer: control or interrupt them, and cover with backup healing if it lands. After Charlga, take the lower trench for Heralath and Willix before the return trip.

  1. Roogug, optional side branch: take the left branch at the first intersection if a Warrior needs the Vial of Phlogiston. Control or kill his companions and interrupt his casts, then return to the main upper route.
  2. Aggem Thorncurse, optional: clear the surrounding pack and gather his summoned Boar Spirit. Kill the spirit if it threatens the healer rather than letting it run loose while everyone attacks Aggem.
  3. Death Speaker Jargba, optional: interrupt Shadow Bolt and be ready for Dominate Mind. Stop damage on a controlled ally and use suitable crowd control until they return. Arrange backup healing if the healer is affected.
  4. Overlord Ramtusk: account for his two guards. Control one and kill the other, then concentrate on Ramtusk while the tank keeps him facing away from the party. Pull him to cleared ground so his nearby damage does not draw another pack.
  5. Bridges and bat cave: stop for patrols before crossing each bridge. Greater Kraul Bats can silence nearby players, so the healer stays back. Check guano counts here. Blind Hunter, a rare bat, is optional if present; Earthcaller Halmgar, another optional rare, is found along the elevated route rather than guaranteed in the same bat room.
  6. Agathelos the Raging: clear the Ward Keepers maintaining his barrier before beginning the fight. Rest before the last one dies if it releases him. His burst damage and enrage need steady tank healing; save a defensive for the dangerous part rather than trying to kite a slowed or stunned tank through nearby packs.
  7. Charlga Razorflank, final boss: spread ranged players for Chain Bolt and keep an interrupt available for her casts. Her Purity makes her briefly immune, so stop spending large damage cooldowns until it ends. Loot the correct faction quest item; Horde inspects the Small Scroll, while eligible Dwarf Shamans check the Tattered Note.
  8. Heralath and Willix: after Charlga, regroup, dismiss pets and drop to the trench below her hut. Alliance accepts Mortality Wanes from Heralath before starting Willix. Finish any nearby tuber collection, then have every eligible player accept the escort. Stay with Willix through the return-route attackers, checking for the pendant if needed, and wait for completion before leaving the instance.

The optional bosses and rares can be skipped for a short Charlga run, but the Warrior quest requires Roogug, guano requires bats, and the escort needs its full return route. Agree on those objectives before using a ledge shortcut that would force a long return.

Loot worth staying for

Use the inherited targets and current Forever additions below as a planning list. Check current availability and stats before a farming trip:

  • Roogug, Forever addition: Roogug's Severed Head, a trinket with a close-range Swine horror/silence use.
  • Aggem, Forever addition: Death Prophet Spine, a caster staff with mana regeneration.
  • Overlord Ramtusk: Corpsemaker, a two-hand axe, and Tusken Helm.
  • Death Speaker Jargba: Death Speaker Robes and Death Speaker Mantle.
  • Agathelos: Ferine Leggings and Swinetusk Shank.
  • Charlga: Pronged Reaver and the faction-specific quest rewards unlocked by her heart or medallion. Current Forever tables also list Blueprint: Arcane Salvager, requiring 140 Enchanting.
  • Blind Hunter, rare: Nightstalker Bow and Batwing Mantle.
  • Earthcaller Halmgar, rare: Whisperwind Headdress.
  • Willix's escort: a choice of Monkey Ring, Snake Hoop or Tiger Band. Compare the stats before accepting.

Tips

  • Check that Blueleaf Tubers players have all the tools before departing Ratchet. No boss drops a replacement crate or command stick.
  • Keep casters back from bat silence and stop patrols on cleared bridge ends. Fighting halfway across a bridge leaves little room for a bad pull.
  • Do not start Willix while other players are collecting tubers or looting a boss. The escort is a party commitment, not a solo side quest.
  • Class quests and The Crone have prerequisites outside the dungeon. A completed boss kill cannot replace an unaccepted collection objective.
