Preparation

At a glance

WoW: Forever, five players per wing. Location: the High Wilderness in Feralas, north of the main east-west road. Horde approaches from Camp Mojache; Alliance from Feathermoon Stronghold. The inherited Broken Commons layout has East, West and North entrances, usually used for separate trips, with the Athenaeum connecting North and West internally.

For a first visit, East is the easier starting point around 56-60. West and a full North clear are more comfortable near 60. Allow roughly an hour per wing, with extra time for a first Tribute run. The 54-60 listing is a planning band, not a guarantee that a level-54 party is ready for every boss.

The inherited access plan starts with East's open main entrance, then obtains Pusillin's Crescent Key for West and North. One key holder can admit the party in that baseline; the secondary East entrance beneath Lariss Pavilion is locked. Confirm Forever's current door requirements before relying on a class or profession alternative.

This is provisional planning for high-level Forever. The detailed wing routes and Tribute preparation use Classic evidence, with current Forever keys, class tools, event rules and rewards still to be confirmed. This guide has been checked against public sources, not tested in game.

Quests to pick up first

East

  • Pusillin and the Elder Azj'Tordin: Azj'Tordin near Lariss Pavilion in Feralas wants Pusillin's Book of Incantations. Follow the whole Pusillin chase and loot both the book and Crescent Key.
  • Lethtendris's Web: Alliance gets it from Latronicus Moonspear at Feathermoon Stronghold; Horde from Talo Thornhoof at Camp Mojache. The item comes from Lethtendris, not from an NPC inside the wing.
  • Shards of the Felvine: advance Rabine Saturna's Moonglade chain, bring the Reliquary of Purity, and use it on a Felvine Shard after Alzzin.
  • Arcane Refreshment, level-60 Mage: Lorekeeper Lydros in the Athenaeum asks for Hydrospawn Essence. Accept first, then return it after Hydrospawn for the Classic high-rank water spell. Check Forever's current spell/quest availability before making a class-only trip.

West and the Athenaeum

  • The Madness Within: the Shen'dralar Ancient inside West asks you to kill Immol'thar and Prince Tortheldrin. Return to the Ancient afterward, then follow The Treasure of the Shen'dralar to its treasure turn-in. It is not a quest you automatically have after clearing pylons.
  • Elven Legends: Alliance starts with Feathermoon's Latronicus Moonspear; Horde with Sage Korolusk at Camp Mojache. Inspect the remains of Kariel Winthalus in the Athenaeum and return to your own faction's quest giver.
  • Class books and Librams have separate Athenaeum turn-ins. Bring the correct book/libram and its required materials; a book drop alone does not finish the reward. Quel'Serrar and epic mount chains require their own earlier steps and later activities outside the ordinary wing clear.

North

The Gordok Ogre Suit and Free Knot! both involve Knot Thimblejack, but their order matters: make the suit before freeing him. Turning in a Gordok Shackle Key makes Knot leave, so he cannot then make the disguise for your Tribute bypass.

A Broken Trap starts at the trap near Slip'kik and needs the items below. For Unfinished Gordok Business, keep Kromcrush alive and speak to him after defeating King Gordok and being recognised as king. Accept the quest, kill Prince Tortheldrin in West, loot Gauntlet of Gordok Might from the chest behind the prince, then return to Kromcrush. Plan access to the surviving friendly captain for that hand-in as well as the pickup.

The run

East: key run or full clear

  1. Pusillin: talk to him near the entrance, follow him through successive stops and clear the route between conversations. At his final platform he turns hostile with imp helpers. Gather the imps, finish the fight and loot the Crescent Key. Stopping after the first conversation does not award it.
  2. Hydrospawn, lower pool: clear nearby patrols, face him away and gather the small elementals he summons. Keep ranged clear of close-range damage and knockback, and check the Mage quest essence before leaving.
  3. Lethtendris and Pimgib, optional upper detour: control or kill the imp, interrupt damaging casts and remove curses from the healer and attackers. Loot the Web for quest holders.
  4. Zevrim Thornhoof, upper shrine: clear the approach and keep the healer in line of sight of the sacrificial altar. Sacrifice teleports and disables a player while draining health; heal that player immediately. Finish Zevrim before returning to Old Ironbark.
  5. Old Ironbark: return to him after Zevrim's death and speak to him to open the way to the final garden.
  6. Alzzin the Wildshaper: clear the garden and gather his summoned imps while handling his form changes. Keep the tank healed through melee bursts, interrupt healing when possible and do not let adds accumulate on the healer. Quest holders seal a Felvine Shard with their reliquary after the kill.

A Pusillin-only key trip can stop after his fight. A full East run includes the Ironbark interaction and Alzzin; announce which you are recruiting for.

West: pylons, Immol'thar and the prince

  1. Deactivate the pylons as the route reaches them by killing their guarding arcane elementals: one in the entry courtyard, two on the upper walkways and two around Immol'thar's prison. Check each shuts down before leaving its area; all five must be inactive before Immol'thar.
  2. Tendris Warpwood: clear the surrounding Ironbark Protectors first because surviving ones can join the boss pull. Keep the tank against safe terrain for knockback and ranged away from Trample. Paladins on the appropriate mount stage inspect the Ancient Equine Spirit afterward.
  3. Illyanna Ravenoak and Ferra, optional upper encounter: control or tank the bear and kill it as needed before focusing Illyanna. Stay out of her trap/volley area. A Druid can use Hibernate on Ferra; otherwise keep the bear tanked while finishing the encounter.
  4. Magister Kalendris, optional but useful route encounter: interrupt his dangerous casts. When Dominate Mind controls a player, stop attacking them and use suitable crowd control until they return. Arrange backup healing if the healer is affected.
  5. Immol'thar: when all five pylons are inactive, clear the remaining approach and pull with full mana. Kill Eyes of Immol'thar as they appear, keep the healer free and save a defensive for Enrage. Warlocks doing the Dreadsteed ritual need a separate prepared event after this kill; it is not a casual extra boss click.
  6. Prince Tortheldrin, Athenaeum: after Immol'thar dies, prepare for the now-hostile prince. Tank him with a wall behind you. Arcane Blast knocks back and reduces threat, so damage dealers pause until the tank regains control. Keep ranged back from Whirlwind and heal melee caught in it. The healer keeps the tank healthy before a possible Counterspell lockout; use tank/healing cooldowns for his fast damage. Finish The Madness Within and its follow-up before leaving the library.

Tsu'zee is an optional rare on the ghost route. Her absence does not block the pylons or prince. Detect or wait for invisible patrols rather than treating an empty corridor as cleared.

West: class-mount objectives

Arrange these inherited level-60 objectives before recruiting. Confirm that the relevant chain is available to your Forever character; the Paladin route was Alliance-only in Classic.

Paladin, Ancient Equine Spirit: bring the Arcanite Barding from the earlier chain and Manna-Enriched Horse Feed. Obtain the feed from Merideth Carlson in Southshore with 20 Enriched Manna Biscuits and 50 gold before the trip. After Tendris dies, feed the freed Ancient Equine Spirit and give it the barding. Accept Blessed Arcanite Barding there, then return to Lord Grayson Shadowbreaker in Stormwind. The later Divination Scryer and Scholomance event are separate stages.

Warlock, Dreadsteed of Xoroth: finish the outside Mor'zul/Gorzeeki preparations and Imp Delivery in Scholomance, then accept the actual final quest. Bring J'eevee's Jar, Black Lodestone, Xorothian Glyphs and a large Soul Shard reserve. In the inherited event, another Warlock can bring their reusable ritual tools, but every learner still needs their own final quest. Check the tools are in the party's bags before clearing West.

  1. Deactivate all five pylons, kill Immol'thar and clear the prison floor. Rest and agree who protects the ritual Warlock before releasing J'eevee from the jar on the pedestal.
  2. J'eevee sets up the Bell, Wheel and Candle. Stay within their beneficial circle while the tank gathers the incoming demons and the party controls or kills them. Keep attackers off the Warlock maintaining the objects.
  3. When an object stops, use the Black Lodestone to restart it. Each repair consumes a Soul Shard and damage can interrupt the cast. If all three objects fail together, the ritual ends; preserve working objects rather than spending every cast on damage.
  4. Once nine runes complete the circle, finish remaining attackers and recover before invoking the Xorothian Glyphs. Fight the summoned Dreadsteed and the accompanying Lord Hel'nurath.
  5. After the fight, speak to the Dreadsteed Spirit to bind it and complete the quest. Killing the horse alone does not teach the summon.

North: ordinary clear

Kill the guards for their own drops, loot Fengus's Chest for the Gordok Courtyard Key, and loot Guard Mol'dar for the Gordok Inner Door Key. The Crescent Key opens the outer entrance, not every door inside.

  • Mol'dar, Fengus and Slip'kik: fight away from uncleared packs with a safe wall behind the tank. Save healing for enrage and knockback overlaps.
  • Stomper Kreeg, optional: keep ranged away from his nearby whirlwind and stun, and avoid pulling him together with another ogre pack.
  • Captain Kromcrush: clear safe fear paths, keep his frontal damage off the party and gather/control the guards he calls. Retaliation counters melee attacks from the front: attack from behind or pause during the buff. Mortal Cleave reduces tank healing, so use a defensive before the tank is already low.
  • King Gordok and Cho'Rush: the tank holds the king while a second durable player or controlled positioning handles Cho'Rush. Save tank and healing resources for Mortal Strike's healing reduction and War Stomp's stun. Cho'Rush can have different caster abilities between runs, so identify the kit and interrupt heals or dangerous casts. On an ordinary clear you can kill Cho'Rush for his loot; for Tribute he must survive until the king dies.

North: full Tribute route

Prepare this before zoning in. A full Tribute run preserves the named ogres and kills only King Gordok, gaining the chest instead of the skipped bosses' own drops.

A confirmed way to open the Gordok Inner Door without killing Mol'darAppropriate Rogue lockpicking, skeleton key or seaforium method for the current version
  1. Bypass Mol'dar and Kreeg by waiting for patrols and using cleared edges. Do not kill Mol'dar merely to get his key if the goal is full Tribute.
  2. Wait for Fengus to move away, loot his chest and open the courtyard door without fighting him.
  3. Clear safe trash, repair the trap, then let Slip'kik walk into it. Keep everyone away from his path until trapped.
  4. Collect the tannin and have Knot make the suit before Free Knot! Open the inner door before Kromcrush using the agreed non-Mol'dar method and clear the remaining trash.
  5. Send the suited player to talk to Kromcrush, drawing him away without combat. The rest of the party waits outside his aggro range, then follows once the route is clear.
  6. Reach Gordok plus Cho'Rush. Keep Cho'Rush occupied and interrupted, but do not kill him. Focus the king, prepare for his Mortal Strike and stun, and keep damage-over-time/area damage off the observer.
  7. When the king dies, stop attacking Cho'Rush. Speak to Mizzle the Crafty to be recognised as king, loot the Tribute and visit surviving friendly ogres for their buffs. Looting the king alone is not the complete reward sequence.

Loot worth staying for

Use these inherited examples to select a provisional Forever route, then verify the current drop table and item. They are not a confirmed Forever best-in-slot list:

  • East: Satyr's Bow from Zevrim; Tempest Talisman and Riptide Shoes from Hydrospawn; Lethtendris's Wand from Lethtendris; Whipvine Cord, Gloves of Restoration and the demonic rings from Alzzin.
  • West: Mindtap Talisman from Kalendris; Stoneflower Staff and Warpwood Binding from Tendris; Evil Eye Pendant and Cloak of the Cosmos from Immol'thar; Distracting Dagger and Eldritch Reinforced Legplates from Tortheldrin.
  • North ordinary bosses: Mugger's Belt and Kromcrush's Chestplate from Kromcrush; Barbarous Blade and Crown of the Ogre King from Gordok.
  • Tribute chest: Rod of the Ogre Magi, Tarnished Elven Ring and other chest-specific rewards. A full Tribute run deliberately gives up Kromcrush's and Cho'Rush's own boss loot.

Tips

  • Recruit for the exact wing and run type. Key, jump, ordinary North and Tribute groups do not have interchangeable routes.
  • Verify the inner-door opener and suit materials before attempting Tribute. The Crescent Key alone is insufficient.
  • Keep pets controlled during every patrol bypass. A failed skip is a reason to regroup, not to run further into the next guard.
  • Tribute buffs are not confirmed for use inside Forever raids; check the current policy before counting them in a raid plan. Check class-book rewards and mount-quest availability before organising a run solely for those unlocks.
